Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing balanced meals for residents, accommodating special dietary needs (e.g., vegetarian, diabetic, low sodium, food allergies) and supporting nutrition for residents with health issues.
- Prepare and serve weekend meals, assisting staff as needed, and help coordinate special events, including resident birthdays and holidays.
- Ensure health and safety standards, maintaining compliance with License and Inspection, ServSafe, and other food distribution regulations, while monitoring and logging equipment temperatures.
- Regularly inspect the kitchen for repairs or maintenance needs, submit work orders, and communicate resident concerns to the Kitchen Coordinator or Program Manager.

Education and Experience Minimum Requirements
Minimum Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year experience cooking for large groups.
- Must obtain ServSafe Managerial Certification within 90 days of hire.
- Knowledge of balanced menu planning required.
Core Skills
- Computer proficiency, good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Physical requirements
- Work that primarily involves standing/walking and some lifting.
