Pay Range is $25.00 - $26.50/hourly (Based on experience)
Location: Stephen Klein Wellness Center at 2144 Cecil B. Moore Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19121. Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.

At the Stephen Klein Wellness Center, part of Project HOME’s mission-driven healthcare network, we are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our collaborative and patient-centered dental team. In this vital role, you’ll play a key part in delivering compassionate, high-quality oral health care to individuals in underserved communities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
Patient Care & Education
Deliver hands-on restorative dental treatment including sealants, coronal polishing, fluoride, and temporary restorations
Assist with extraoral adjustments and chairside procedures while supporting patient comfort and dignity
Take diagnostic radiographs and complete precise documentation in electronic charts
Provide clear post-op and oral hygiene instructions, with additional counseling on nutrition and substance use where appropriate
Infection Control & Safety
Maintain rigorous infection prevention standards in accordance with OSHA, CDC, HIPAA, and funder guidelines
Sterilize instruments, disinfect treatment rooms, and troubleshoot or report equipment malfunctions promptly
Uphold dental operatory readiness and support a safe, compliant clinical environment
Inventory & Equipment Management
Monitor inventory and order supplies using our streamlined tagging and huddle flagging system
Dispose of expired materials and damaged instruments appropriately
Perform preventive maintenance and ensure dental equipment remains in excellent condition
Lab Work & Case Management
Create, clean, and track dental appliances and restorations including bite blocks, trays, occlusal guards, and study models
Maintain an organized lab area, track turnaround times, and coordinate with patients and external labs as needed
Quality Improvement & Assurance
Participate in ongoing quality initiatives related to sealants, fluoride application, caries risk assessments, tobacco screening, and other integrated health metrics
Contribute to peer reviews, radiograph quality audits, and clinical excellence as part of a high-performing healthcare team
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Current EFDA license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (or completion of an accredited EFDA program with eligibility to obtain license prior to hire)
DANB Radiation Health & Safety certification (or obtain within 90 days)
CPR/BLS certification (or obtain within 90 days)
Proficient computer and electronic documentation skills
