Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Assistant: - Provide day-to-day administrative support for the
K-8 Program, which includes but is not limited to:
- Assist K-8 Program Manager in processing K-8 applications
and ensuring applications are complete prior to enrollment
- Assist K-8 Program Manager with student file
compliance
- Input data into Project HOME's ETO data management
system for effective reporting
- Order and prepare food for after school and camp
meals, set up meal time space, maintain adequate food inventory, and record
and submit NDS documentation
- Assist K-8 Program Manager in coordinating
DHS/OCDEL licensing procedures and Keystone Stars requirements
Recruitment
and Outreach: - Support K-8
program recruitment and retention goals through community outreach and
developing and maintaining positive relationships with youth and parents
Lead Teacher Role: - Assist with daily student transportation, which can
include driving a van, assisting as a van aide, or walking to and from local
schools
- Prepare, submit, and facilitate engaging lesson and
activity plans designed to provide after school enrichment, increasing
literacy, STEM and life skills
- Maintain accurate daily classroom attendance and
maintain an orderly classroom
- Support K-8 literacy goals by tracking student
literacy software usage and providing interventional supports
- Collaborate with Program Manager, the K-8 staff to
ensure that students' individualized needs are appropriately addressed
- Assist with set-up and clean-up at afterschool meal
time
- Supervise students on field trips
- Participate in required professional development programs,
staff meetings, and parent meetings

Education and Experience Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Experience: - Associates
Degree required in Early Childhood Education, Human Services, or other
related fields with 1-3 yrs of childcare experience
- Experience with
planning lessons and activities for elementary and/or middle school students
- Awareness of the
developmental needs of elementary school students
- Some secretarial/administrative
experience
- Experience
using Outlook and Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Valid driver's
license and clean driving record
Preferred Experience: - Bachelor's Degree preferred in Early Childhood
Education, Human Services, or other related fields with at least 1 year of childcare
experience
- Experience developing positive relationships and
engaging lessons and activities for middle school students
Core Skills: - Ability to
prioritize tasks well
- Excellent
communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Excellent
interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with staff, students, and
parents. Stays calm under pressure.
Physical requirements:
Sedentary work that
involves sitting at a desk. ability to climb and walk down stairs. adequate
eyesight and hearing to effectively manage a classroom and groups of
children. able to lift 20 pounds.
