Job Summary
The Kitchen Coordinator manages daily kitchen operations, ensuring nutritional standards, meal preparation, and cleanliness while coordinating with food providers to help residents develop cooking and menu planning skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan and prepare balanced meals, serving 21 weekly meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) along with snacks, while coordinating special resident events in collaboration with the site team.
Meet with residents to develop menu items that cater to individual dietary needs, such as vegetarian, diabetic, low sodium, or renal diets, ensuring that nutrition standards are met, especially for those with health issues stemming from homelessness.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including License and Inspection and ServSafe regulations, while managing corrective actions from inspections and maintaining similar standards in additional kitchens at the site.
Order and maintain inventory of food and kitchen supplies, adhering to the annual budget while keeping accurate records of purchases and submitting necessary documentation, all while communicating with the Program Manager and vendors to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
Assist residents to gain advanced skills for future employment opportunities by supervising residents with hands on skill building in the kitchen.

Education and Experience Minimum Requirements
Minimum Experience
High School Diploma/GED, at least 3years of experience in cooking for large groups or in an institutional setting, SERVSafe Managerial Certification required.
Knowledge of balanced menu planning to ensure nutritional standards are met.
Experience managing a budget
Valid Pennsylvania driver's license
Core Skills
Proficient in computer use with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with staff and residents at all levels.
Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
