Nurse Intern


Project HOME is seeking a Nurse Intern (RN) at the Stephen Klein Wellness Center.  You will gain hands-on clinical experience while serving individuals and families in a compassionate, trauma-informed environment focused on dignity, healing, and whole-person care. This internship is an opportunity to grow your nursing skills alongside an interdisciplinary team dedicated to breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty through accessible healthcare and supportive services.

What You'll Do

As a Nurse Intern, you will support the nursing team by providing patient-centered care and clinical support services, including:

  • Conduct nursing assessments and triage for walk-in patients
  • Respond to incoming sick calls following Stephen Klein Wellness Center protocols
  • Educate and counsel patients and families on medications, chronic disease management, acute illnesses, and family planning
  • Support nursing care management programs, including:
    • Antipsychotic Injection Panel
    • Persons Living With HIV initiatives
  • Assist with documentation and coordination of care within the electronic health record system
  • Deliver care using trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
What We're Looking For Minimum Qualifications
  • Participant in the Independence Blue Cross Foundation's Nurses for Tomorrow Internship Program
  • Currently enrolled and in good academic standing within a nursing program
  • Current CPR Certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices
  • Experience supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, substance dependence, or trauma
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and computer skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook
  • Experience working within an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
