Job Summary: The daytime dispatcher
is a part-time position in the Outreach Coordination Center (OCC). The daytime dispatcher is the primary point
of contact for the daytime outreach teams.
This role is responsible for answering the Homeless Outreach Hotline,
documenting incoming calls, dispatching outreach teams, problem-solving and
completing data entry.

Essential
Duties and Responsibilities
The
Homeless Outreach Hotline
- Answer all incoming phone calls and maintain a
professional demeanor at all times.
Assign coverage when needed during breaks.
- Document all response calls and complete data entry
- Dispatch the daytime teams and communicate the
team's estimated time of arrival.
Record the team's arrival time and follow-up with the caller
regarding the outcome.
- During a weather emergency, follow OCC procedures to
safeguard at-risk individuals on the street. Assign teams to sectors and conduct
periodic radio checks to ensure sector coverage. Assist teams with weather related
302s.
- Monitor the use of OCC vehicles and equipment. Ensure that authorized drivers are
signing the van keys and gas cards in and out, per OCC procedure.
Homeless
Services
- Refer homeless persons who are seeking assistance at
the Seward Residence to the appropriate services within the OCC.
- Act as an outreach liaison by interacting with the
public at large including visitors, residents, other staff and
co-workers in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Advocate on behalf of individuals to ensure their
needs are being addressed and they have the appropriate levels of
support and referrals to services.
Minimum
Qualifications
- High School diploma or
GED
- Strong interpersonal
skills
- Basic computer skills
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of housing
and homeless services in Philadelphia
What
Qualifications or Experience You May Bring:
- Some college preferred
- Bi-Lingual (Spanish and
English)
- Knowledge of best
practices in trauma-informed care

Ability to move to or
remain sedentary for periods of time in various locations
