The Operations Manager supervises site personnel, optimizes processes, and collaborates with leadership to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.

What You'll Do
- Lead Site Operations: Provide hands-on leadership at one or more health center sites-owning patient flow, scheduling, staffing, and resource coordination to ensure smooth, high-functioning clinics. Provide leadership and oversight of day-to-day operations of assigned health center site(s), working collaboratively with site supervisors to address challenges, reinforce policies and procedures, and streamline processes as needed, including patient flow, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Inspire and Manage Teams: Supervise and coach front desk supervisors, site leads, and community health workers. Foster a culture of respect, accountability, and service excellence. Serves as a liaison between providers, staff, and administrative leadership to ensure operational efficiency.
- Drive Financial Performance: Oversee budgets, manage clinic expenses, and ensure efficient revenue cycle operations, including billing, collections, reconciliation, and compliance with the sliding fee scale.
- Champion Patient-Centered Care: Create an environment where accessibility, cultural humility, and respect are at the heart of every patient interaction. Monitor satisfaction metrics and deploy improvements based on real-time feedback.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Keep our sites in full alignment with HRSA, HIPAA, OSHA, managed care contracts, and all local/state/federal regulations. Provides consistent and timely site-level reporting to the Senior Director of Operations.
- Optimize Access & Scheduling: Adjust provider templates, reduce no-shows, and improve appointment utilization to maximize patient access and operational efficiency.
- Elevate Quality and Innovation: Partner with clinical teams to design, launch, and lead continuous improvement projects (PDSAs), quality initiatives, and special programs that advance outcomes. Actively participates in and leads site-level Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes and operational efficiency. Assist in the development and implementation of special clinic projects.
- Own the Details That Matter: Manage supply inventories, coordinate with facilities on site upkeep, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure daily clinic reconciliations are completed.
- Be a Mission-Driven Leader: Model ethical, professional behavior and lead by example in all interactions. Maintain a consistent physical presence during operating hours and represent your site with pride and purpose.
What You'll Bring:
- A Bachelor's degree (required); background in healthcare administration, public health, or business preferred.
- 3-5 years of healthcare operations leadership experience REQUIRED, ideally in an FQHC or community health setting.
- A track record of inspiring teams, solving complex problems, and delivering results in high-impact environments.
- Deep commitment to health equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed care.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, behavioral health challenges, or substance use.
- Strong understanding of healthcare compliance, revenue cycle management, and patient access strategies.
- Excellent communication, time management, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EMRs (preferably eClinicalWorks), and virtual collaboration tools.
- CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the organization.
Preferred Requirements:
- Bilingual fluency (Spanish/English)
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other performance improvement methodologies.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and remain active on-site throughout the clinic's hours of operation.
