Job Summary: The Residential Services Coordinator Level 1 (RSC 1) will support residents in achieving wellness and recovery goals within an LGBTQ-affirming environment by utilizing a person-centered recovery model and fostering a culture of peer support. The RSC 1 will assist residents in retaining housing and employment, developing skills, and engaging in community resources to promote self-sufficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Provide initial support and orientation to new residents transitioning from homelessness, establishing trust and well-being while understanding their unique needs and barriers to design recovery plans with short and long-term goals.
- Assist residents in crisis by assessing situations and implementing necessary interventions, while coordinating referrals and advocacy for recovery, housing, benefits, employment, education, medical care, and supportive services.
- Collaborate with residents to identify strengths and support systems, plan and facilitate group activities, and enhance self-esteem and life skills through community-building efforts.
- Maintain resident records as required in a timely and thorough manner, including case notes, goal plans, and assessments as required in an electronic system. Assist with housing applications and participate in meetings and training.
- Alternate on-call responsibilities with other staff for emergencies, including by on-call phone or coming to site.
Site Specific Duties and Responsibilities AS APPLICABLE - Perform reception duties, including building rounds and documenting unusual activities in the shift log and Microsoft Teams chat.
- Assist residents with meal preparation at sites with kitchens or meal services.
- Monitor medications and help organize the medication room at sites with medication-monitoring responsibilities.
Education and Experience Minimum Requirements: Minimum Experience: - Certified Peer Specialist (CPS)/Certified Recovery Specialist (CPS), or two years of experience working with the target population.
- Experience working with individuals who have experienced homelessness and/or behavioral health challenges.
- Availability for evening, weekend, and on-call duties.
Core Skills: - Good verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn computerized case management system.
Physical requirements: - Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing/some walking.
