Job Summary: The primary responsibility of the Senior Accountant & AP Supervisor - Project HOME is to prepare and input the month-end closing journal entries for Project HOME, the monthly account analysis and bank account reconciliations. In addition, the Senior Accountant & AP Supervisor manages the accounts payable process and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Month End Close:
- Meet the deadlines on the month-end closing calendar including preparing & entering journal entries, generating recurring entries, and reconciling bank statements.
- Review & approve journal entries as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
- Reconcile balance sheets and bank accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and timely resolution of reconciling items.
- Master, manage, and reconcile intercompany transactions monthly.
- Respond to ticketing system questions for account analysis and input reclasses in a timely manner.
- Generate monthly management reports, as requested.
Accounts Payable:
- Review and approve invoices for weekly check runs.
- Ensure timeliness of vendor payments out of both accounts payable software systems for multiple legal entities.
- Ensure accuracy of vendor records in both accounts payable software systems.
- Manage the year end accrual of outstanding invoices.
Audit, Tax & Reporting:
- Prepare & gather requested schedules and supporting documentation for the annual audit.
- Assist the Accounts Payable Specialists in 1099 preparation & submission for Project HOME.
- Prepare the annual Project HOME consolidated financial statement and provide variance analysis results.
Administration:
- Directly supervise two (2) accounts payable staff.
- Assist in maintaining accounting systems and ensuring the integrity of the systems.
- Assist in the implementation of new systems and/or processes.
- Conduct training on accounts payable processes for new personnel or updates for existing personnel.
- Leverage technology and recommend ways to reduce costs and/or improve efficiency of accounting and accounts payable processes.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager - Project HOME.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, or equivalent experience (4 years).
- At least five (5) years experience in the following areas: accounting department month-end close process, preparing journal entries, preparing balance sheet account analyses, and accounts payable.
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational orientation are required.
What Qualifications or Experience You May Bring:
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting
- Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge software
- Experience with Yardi software
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to move to or remain sedentary for periods of time in various locations
