Job Summary: The Senior Budget & Financial Analyst plays a strategic role in driving financial planning, analysis, and reporting across the organization. This position partners with leadership and budget managers to ensure sound financial decision-making, enhance financial literacy, and support the organization's long-term fiscal health. The role requires a high level of analysis, leadership in budget development, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Management and Reporting
- Support the distribution and interpretation of monthly budget-to-actual reports for internal stakeholders.
- Conduct in-depth variance analysis by property and department, identifying trends and providing actionable insights.
- Support monthly financial review meetings with executive leadership by preparing comprehensive financial summaries.
Analytical Support
- Monitor and analyze monthly expense trends, proactively engaging with budget managers to address discrepancies.
- Mentor and train budget managers to enhance financial literacy and accountability across departments.
- Develop and present monthly financial indicator reports to Senior Director of Budgets & Financial Analysis.
Budget Development
- Support the annual budgeting process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of operating and capital budgets.
- Prepare and coordinate budget submissions for managed entities, ensuring compliance with investor and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the integration and maintenance of budget data in Yardi and other financial systems.
Process Improvement and Administration
- Document financial policies and procedures to support consistent and efficient operations.
- Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to implement budget changes and system enhancements.
- Contribute to organizational goals and initiatives as outlined in annual objectives.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Budgets & Financial Analysis.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field, or equivalent experience (4 years).
- Minimum of (5) years experience in the following areas: budgeting, forecasting, or analysis
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
What Qualifications or Experience You May Bring:
- Experience in nonprofit financial management
- Experience with financial systems such as Blackbaud Financial Edge, Yardi, or Workday
- Experience using data driven analysis to inform strategic financial decisions
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to move to or remain sedentary for periods of time in various locations
