Leads a K-8 classroom as a Lead Teacher during summer camp. Lead Teacher responsibilities include
planning and implementing lessons that include project-based learning for
academic and life skills enrichment in a state-of-the-art, high-quality center,
and supervision of children during summer camp trips.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and nurture a welcoming, supportive and
cooperative relationship with children, parents and staff
- Prepare,
submit and facilitate engaging lesson and activity plans designed to provide enrichment,
increase literacy, STEM and life skills
- Supervise
students on field trips
- Maintain
accurate daily classroom attendance and maintain an orderly classroom
- Collaborate
with Program Manager, the K-8 staff to ensure that students' individualized
needs are appropriately addressed
- Participate
in required staff meetings

Education and Experience Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Experience:
- High
school diploma with at least two years of child care experience (can include
volunteering and tutoring)
- Awareness
of developmental needs of elementary school students
- Good
communication skills
Preferred Experience:
- College credits or an Associate
Degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services or other
related fields with at least 1 year of child care experience
- Experience planning lessons and activities for elementary
aged students
- Valid driver's license and clean
driving record
Core Skills:
- Ability
to prioritize tasks well
- Excellent
communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Excellent
interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
Stays calm under pressure.
Physical requirements:
- Active work involved in
the care of children. includes walking,
climbing stairs, kneeling, and driving.
