Dental Hygienist

Join Project HOME, a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty and homelessness. As a Dental Hygienist, you'll provide compassionate, high-quality preventive dental care to individuals who might otherwise go without treatment. Working alongside an interdisciplinary healthcare team, you'll help improve oral health, promote overall wellness, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients every day.

  • Location: Stephen Klein Wellness Center – Philadelphia, PA
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Compensation: up to $43/hour, based on experience

What You'll Do

Deliver Exceptional Patient Care

  • Perform preventive dental hygiene services, including cleanings, periodontal scaling, fluoride treatments, sealants, and local anesthesia.
  • Capture and mount digital radiographs.
  • Evaluate patients' oral health and identify preventive care needs.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.

Support Clinical Excellence

  • Maintain accurate electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with dentists and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals from diverse backgrounds.

What You'll Need

Licenses & Certifications

  • Current Pennsylvania Registered Dental Hygienist license.
  • Pennsylvania Local Anesthesia Permit.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong clinical assessment and patient education skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

What You May Bring

While not required, the following qualifications may help you succeed in this role:

  • Public Health Dental Hygiene Practitioner (PHDHP) Permit.
  • Experience working with underserved or vulnerable populations.
  • Experience using eClinicalWorks (eCW) or another electronic health record system.
  • Community or public health dentistry experience.
