Minimum Starting Salary: $61,494

Job Summary: The Healthcare Applications Trainer lays a critical role in supporting the effective use of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and other applicable healthcare applications within Project HOME Healthcare Services. This position is responsible for training staff, troubleshooting issues, optimizing workflows, and serving as a key resource for EHR and other application-related questions. The Healthcare Applications Trainer collaborates with clinical and administrative, including information technology teams to ensure efficient and accurate documentation, compliance, and system utilization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver training programs for new and existing users on EHR and other healthcare applications' functionality, best practices, and workflow optimization.
- Conduct one-on-one and group training sessions for clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Create and maintain training materials, user guides, and job aids to support healthcare applications adoption and adherence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for EHR-related questions and troubleshooting.
- Attend regular product updates and upgrade meetings relevant to healthcare applications and distill information into a digestible format for relevant team members. Stay informed and up to date on all product roadmap elements and impacts to the end-user experience.
- Work closely with end-users to identify workflow challenges and recommend improvements.
- Configure and customize the healthcare applications systems to align with organizational needs.
- Ensure staff compliance with documentation requirements, regulatory standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate with IT and healthcare applications vendors to implement system updates and enhancements.
- Address user concerns, resolve healthcare applications-related issues, and escalate complex technical problems as needed.
- Perform system testing for new features, updates, and upgrades and monitor system performance by reporting any inefficiencies and/or inconsistencies.
- In concert with leaders, act as a liaison between healthcare applications representatives and Project HOME.
- Support data entry accuracy, adherence to privacy and security regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH act), auditing for compliance within accordance of organizational policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance on meaningful use, interoperability, and quality reporting.
- Adept at generating and analyzing appropriate reports from all applications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, or Healthcare Informatics or 3 additional years of experience with electronic medical/health record (EMR/EHR) systems
- 4+ years of experience working with an EHR system in a healthcare setting as a certified EHR system Administrator and/or certified superuser, including a minimum of 2 years with eClinicalWorks (eCW).
- Prior experience as an EHR trainer, superuser, or implementation specialist.
- Strong understanding of EHR workflows, system functionalities, and best practices.
- Experience in delivering training sessions or providing technical support in a healthcare setting
- Ability to troubleshoot technical and workflow-related issues.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
- Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (HIPAA, HITECH Act, CMS, Meaningful Use, etc.).
- Training or certification in eClinicalWorks
- Strong understanding of clinic operations, healthcare regulations, and compliance standards.
- Willingness to work flexible hours in order to meet the organization's needs/demands.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
What Experience or r Qualifications You May Bring:
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Experience in these healthcare applications/systems: Apteryx, Azara and others including pharmacy software
- Ability to remain solution-focused and respectful in all interactions with staff, colleagues, vendors and clients.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license, a good driving record, transportation available to meet job requirements.
- Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health setting.
