Part-Time Receptionist - Ray Homes

As a Receptionist, you will serve as a professional point of contact for staff, residents, contractors, and guests while helping to ensure tenant safety by monitoring building access and maintaining a welcoming environment.

This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service, supporting the continuity of daily operations, and contributing to a safe and supportive residential setting. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, answering and directing phone calls, responding to inquiries, monitoring building access, and performing basic administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to adapt quickly to a variety of tasks and situations.

Location: Ray Homes, 2101 W. Venango Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140
Schedule: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday | 6:00 PM - 2:00 AM
Hours: Part-Time (weekly or as needed)
Compensation: $18.15 per hour

What You Will Do:

  • Maintain a constant presence at the front desk, granting access only to authorized staff, residents, guests, and delivery personnel while ensuring all guests sign the visitor log and present photo ID.
  • Establish and maintain healthy, respectful relationships with residents, guests, and community members
  • Conduct hourly rounds to monitor unusual activity, check the security of exterior doors and windows, and use security cameras for surveillance.
  • Answer incoming calls, take accurate messages, and assist with clerical tasks such as typing, filing, copying, and managing deliveries.
  • Facilitate room setups for community space meetings
  • Document shift summaries and share during shift change.
  • Address urgent and crisis situations using de-escalation strategies and follow emergency procedures for incidents such as floods and fires.
  • As applicable, act as dispatch and point of contact for outreach, including completing response forms making referrals, and completing documentation.
  • Attend meetings and trainings, including supervision, staff meetings, community meetings, linkage meetings, and court appearances, if necessary.

What You Will Bring:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of related experience

Core Skills:

  • Basic computer/technology literacy
  • Good communication skills
